What is the best phone?

Hello! I’m looking to get a new phone, but I don’t want to be disappointed. I’ve had an iPhone 13 for about two-three years now and it’s honestly really disappointed me. Before this, I had an iPhone 11 which I absolutely loved (and was definitely my best phone), but I don’t want to go back to an older model. The switch has had me wanting to stay away from all iPhone models. The camera on my current phone is grainy and messes with the colors, it gets incredibly hot when charging, it loses battery life quickly, and i could keep going.
I’m looking for something with a good camera and battery life. And as long as it functions like a normal phone in every other aspect, I’m good. I’ll really take any brand at this point, but I think I’m going to stay away from iPhones. I’ve been considering getting a Samsung flip, but I don’t want to have to replace my phone within the next few years like I’m doing with my current one. All help will be very much appreciated!
Top Comment: There is no best phone. The latest flagships from Apple, Google, Samsung and Xiaomi are all great phones depending on what you are looking for. Personally I love the Pixel A series, there's just so much value for money in what you are getting with those.

Hey all,
I have an iPhone 12 mini. Had it since it was a new release and the battery has gone downhill. I did just get it replaced so I'm hoping it will kick it another year, but I'm looking for a new phone before I go to Ireland for a wedding in June 2026 (I know it's far away, but I wanna start saving now).
Wondering what phone to get. I do like Apple, but I just find I don't have a lot of luck battery wise in a way. Before I replaced it the health was at 81% and I literally felt like I had to keep it on low power mode the whole time (which is also the reason it probably deteriorated). I'm not super tech savvy with things like repairs or battery life. But I want something that is good and especially has a great camera. I also write a lot on my phone - like short stories and stuff - and like to edit my photos.
Should I stick to Apple iPhones or is there any brand you prefer?

Top Comment: "Best" is a bit vague, as every phone has a niche. But a newer flagship Samsung would likely do good for you.

And also, is the budget friendly phone brands good and trusted? Like Xiaomi, Infinix and Tecno.
Top Comment: Have used Apple, Google, OnePlus & Samsung. I have a OnePlus 13 as my personal device & iPhone 15 Pro Max as a work device. OnePlus devices offer great value for the price that you pay. You get great specs, good cameras for a really good price. I really like the device and it deserves the praise it gets from reviewers. I daily the iPhone 15 Pro Max for work, it's a good device but my praise of the device stops at the hardware, all my gripes about this device is because of iOS. If you daily both Android & iOS, outside of ecosystem integration, iOS is inferior to Android in the important ways like text manipulation & input (iOS keyboards are just inferior & text selection is aggravating), notifications are a mess as you can't collapse them (which is a big problem as a work device if you're the type that receives lots of emails) and the lack of universal back breaks the workflow. Sometimes swiping from the left works, sometimes it doesn't & requires the use of a small back button on the top left, it lacks consistency. For a company praised for UX design, it absolutely fails on the fact that they never fixed this UX flaw. Google makes solid phones, yes, the Tensor has its teething pains & yes, it's not as performant as Snapdragon's best chips but frankly unless you're a mobile gamer, I think Tensor processors are just fine. For the vast majority of people who isn't trying to chase the performance crown, it works smoothly. The Pixel UI is great, love the Pixel exclusive features. If the Pixel 9 Pro XL was priced better in Canada, I would have kept sticking to Pixels as I moved from the Pixel 6 to the OnePlus 13. Even with the modem issues of the Pixel 6 where it's just inefficient, I really liked my time with the Pixel 6 & it's now even better with the Pixel 9 series. I tested the 9a when setting it up for a family member and it's a well built device, modem issues were completely resolved, it has a newer Exynos 5300 revision modem. Samsung can be a great choice, I used to use them but I haven't found anything really enticing about them, OnePlus has better value & Pixel has great software. Samsung is great for the masses & a safe recommendation but nothing really stands out unless you go for their niche devices like foldables.

Top Comment: I do find the "uniqueness" claims about Nothing to be really funny. As Fisher says early on, it's normal for 90% of the back. For me though the top 10% being a bit quirky doesn't count for anything at all, same as the old glyph lights. If you want to actually stand out do something actually different. I do like it as a relatively "stock" Pixel alternative (no idea on the rooting scene mind) but if I were into big phones I don't see why I'd go for one of their phones over the Pixel (except for the CMF due to the price)

Does anyone actually have this device and if so, what’re the pros and cons compared to say, Samsung Galaxy S24 / Ultra, or Pixel 9 Pro, Motorola Razr 2024, etc.
Is it buttery smooth? How’s the OS? Anything that stands out - good or bad?
I’m generally curious after seeing the specs on paper and price comparisons to other flagship Android devices.
